CHAPTER 12

Camille dresses in a simple pair of dress slacks, a silk blouse and a pair of low heel sandals, put her hair up and she was ready. With everything in check, she grabbed her purse and her keys and headed down the stairs to leave. Stopping midway down she forgot to put the note with the number in her purse. Taking a quick U-turn she went back to her room to retrieve the small piece of paper and she stashed it in her bag. She didn’t have time to really think about the number. Snatching up her files she walks out into the calm evening and drove off to meet Markus for her dinner meeting.

She arrives at the bistro a few minutes before six and went inside. Standing at the door she scans and locates Markus at a table near the rear of the restaurant by the window facing the harbor. He eyed her and hand signaled for her to come on over. Markus was casually dressed in a pair slacks and a tight fitted mock neck shirt that showed his muscular physique. Camille nearly went weak at the knees when she saw him. Her nostrils inhaled the sexy cologne that he was wearing. The scent seemed very familiar to her. It was the same cologne she had gotten Blake last year for his birthday. She remembered the scent because every time Blake wore it, it made her drop her panties, quick, fast and in a hurry. Markus stood as a gentleman should and pulled out the chair for Camille, and greeting her with his winning smile. She smiled at and spoke to him while placing her behind in the seat. Markus signaled for the waiter to come over. Would you like something to drink Camille? The way her name rolled off his lips sounded like orchestrated music to her ears. Camille told the waiter she would have a Sex On The Beach to drink, and Markus ordered a beer. The waiter walked away and was back within minutes with their drinks. They decided to wait a few before ordering their meal. Markus pulled out some files he had brought along with him to go over. They began the discussion with the upcoming robbery/murder case where two young thugs robbed a store-owner, killing his wife during the criminal act. The two suspects were both apprehended and placed in jail. Camille had not decided whether or not to charge the youths as adults or not. For her, that was the hardest part of her job as D.A. is when her cases involved kids. She knew that some of them grew up on the rough streets, some had no fathers, or their fathers are locked up or both parents were incarcerated or strung out on some hard drugs and the kids basically raised themselves. Stealing, fighting, skipping
